In a close fought match as befitting two foundation members of the GNSW, the Sydney University Lions played a hard fought match against the old foe, the Bondi Raiders with the Lions coming up victors 45-21. To give you an idea as to how close this game was, the score was 22-21 going into the 4th quarter, with the Lions turning on the jets on both sides of the ball to pull away. The 4th quarter featured a blocked punt, strip sacks and length of the field drives so the Lions managed to apply pressure in all phases of the game.
