The 2013 Cubs season has introduced a new preseason award, named after club stalwart Anthony Sinton. In a similar way that the Randall Mann award is given to the player who has the best preseason training for the Lions, the Anthony Sinton award is earned by the Cubs player who has the best preseason.

For the 2013 season, the award winner is safety Will Davies. After a very strong rookie season, Will has moved to safety, where he brings his sure tackling and track speed to the defence. With excellent attendance at training, good attitude, great effort and strong performance, the coaches were impressed with what he did all preseason. Very coachable and constantly hustling, Will is a very deserved winner.
