The Sydney University Katangas were part of the inaugural GNSW U15’s Mixed Flag Competition established in 2025.
In 2025, the Katangas had two teams (Katangas Blue & Katangas Gold) playing in the GNSW season.
The Katangas pre-season starts in June each year, with the season running from September – December.
