NICK OLIVE AWARDED UNIVERSITY GOLD

Sydney Uni American Football Club would like to congratulate Club Treasurer, Nick Olive, for being awarded a University Gold on Friday 29th November 2024 at the Annual Blues Dinner.

University Golds are awarded in recognition of outstanding and sustained service to Sydney Uni Sport or one of the sporting clubs over a period of at least 7 years.


Nick has been an essential member of Sydney Uni American Football Club since 2011, initially serving as a Colts coach before playing on the Men’s team. He held various leadership roles, including Vice President and team captain. In 2018 he became Treasurer and continued in that role while living in London, also serving as registrar for four years. Upon returning to Sydney in 2022, he took on additional responsibilities, including equipment manager and secretary, and helped launch the Alumni and Supporters Membership initiative. Nicks contributions were crucial to the club’s success, including consequtive Mens championships from 2013-2018, in 2020 and 2022.

Nick is the 5th member of Sydney Uni American Football Club to be awared a Gold, with the other members as follows:

Keith Phillips – 1986
Robert Anderson – 1989
Andrew Ogborne – 2010
James Gifford – 2019

The club is always looking for volunteers to help with the running of the club. This can be via coaching, an official role on our club committee, or more select responsibilities including equipment manager, social media manager, website manager, recruitment, canteen organiser, sponsorship coordinator, photographer, videographer amongst many more.
