An emphatic win let every other team know that the Cubs of 2006 are a force to be reckoned with. Seemingly able to do whatever they liked, the Cubs ran and passed all over the Pumas. The first play of the game was a 30 yard rumbling dive for a touchdown to Ben “You can’t tackle me with those things you call arms” Greenberry. Josh “Redbeard” Bidaud also got his rumble on, running through and around tacklers for an impressive day on the ground. Dan “I’ll never get a haircut” Agung had a solid, mistake free day passing for three touchdowns.
On the defence a shutout is always impressive, but when you hold the other team to two first downs it is called complete domination. To the Pumas credit they never gave up trying but the debutant team was clearly overmatched. An impressive day for Jeremy Jarret resulted in 2 sacks the last of which caused the Pumas coaching staff to call the game off with a few minutes to go. Dan Cranfield was disruptive as usual.
Keenan Mackett playing Right Guard and Linebacker all game had an impressive day dominating his man at the point of attack going both ways, just the way Keenan likes it.
An especially impressive performance was recorded by Phil Reisacher scoring an unlikely hat-trick of touchdowns. Two on receptions and one on an interception return.
Overall a dominating win but the boys can’t afford to rest on their laurels as next week they will have their toughest game to date. They are playing the other undefeated team of the competition, the Sutherland Seahawks.
