The Sydney University Cubs kicked off their season today against the Central West Giants. The Cubs were well organised and clinical in their display as they won 40-0.

The Lions had the task of taking on the Newcastle Kings and raced out to a 28-0 lead at half time. The Lions struggled to keep the momentum in the second half as injuries and turnovers hindered the Uni. Some determined play from the Kings resulted in two touchdowns with the final result reading 34-14 to Sydney Uni.

Both the Lions and Cubs now prepare to face the UNSW Raiders on 9th September at David Phillips Sport Complex, Daceyville.
