2017 GNSW Draw Released

Posted on August 27, 2017

The 2017 Gridiron NSW draw has been released. The Sydney Uni Lions open their campaign to defend their NSW title on Saturday, 2 September 2017 at 1pm, with a road trip to the central coast to take on the re-badged Newcastle Kings at Slade Park. Newcastle played another season of the Hunter Gridiron League in the GNSW off-season and the Kings are looking to build on the growth of the sport in the region. It should be a familiar fixture for the Lions, as they have opened two of their last three seasons with games against Newcastle on the road.

The Sydney Uni Cubs open their season against the Central West Giants, a new team to the competition in 2017.

A major highlight of the draw will be the two home games our teams will play on the new Sydney Uni Football Ground. The Lions will play the Northern Sydney Rebels on the SU Football Ground on 16 September @ 7pm and then return the following week on 23 September @ 6pm for a Waratah Bowl match-up against the West Sydney Pirates on 23 September. These games should not be missed.

Each game in the draw has been entered on the Lions and Cubs season draw pages.
